How to Prevent Wikitext in Your Wikispace

Wikitext is a great tool to use when editing your wikispace. But sometimes, you might find yourself wanting to add a footnote, like this…

But, the asterisk is a part of wikitext, and will cause that footnote to turn into an unordered list with bullet points to the left of it. So how do you prevent wikitext when you simply want to add an asterisk before a footnote? Simply add 2 backticks before and after the words that you’d like to prevent wikitext on. It’s the key right before the 1 key on your keyboard. Here’s what the footnote above would look like to prevent wikitext…
